Walmart product video requirements: how to add one in Seller Center

If you're checking Walmart's product video requirements before you upload one to a listing, here's what Walmart's own Marketplace Learn documentation says about file size, title length, processing time, and which categories can't use it — plus how to actually add a video through Seller Center.

This guide is a companion to our Walmart image types and content score guide, which covers Walmart's Silo, Lifestyle, Graphics, and Detail image types and the separate content-score measure. We don't repeat that here — see that guide for the image side of a Walmart listing.

What Walmart's Media Library guide says about product video

Walmart's Marketplace Learn documentation covers product video through its Media Library guide, reached from Seller Center via Catalog > Media Library:

Walmart's own Media Library guide doesn't gate this upload behind Brand Portal registration or any brand-registry-style requirement. That's a separate, more limited feature: Walmart's rich-media checklist reserves what it calls "Below the Fold" content for registered brands. The ordinary Media Library video upload isn't that — it's a self-serve step in Seller Center's Catalog section.

Walmart's product video requirements vs. a stated minimum length

We looked for a minimum video length in Walmart's own Marketplace Learn documentation and didn't find one stated. If Walmart has a minimum somewhere, it isn't published where we could verify it. The only length-adjacent number we found is the under-60-second processing time, and that describes how fast Walmart's system handles your uploaded file, not how long the video itself is allowed to run.

Which categories can't use it

Walmart's own Prohibited Products Policy pages block most alcohol, tobacco and e-cigarette or vaping products, and firearm-related items from sale on Marketplace at all. Since those categories largely can't have a live listing in the first place, there's no listing to attach a video to, either.

How to add a video in Seller Center

  1. In Seller Center, go to Catalog, then Media Library.
  2. Select Add Media, then choose Videos.
  3. Drag in or browse to your video file (100MB or less).
  4. Add a title (200 characters or less) and the other required fields.
  5. Submit — the file typically processes in under 60 seconds.

ShopShot's video add-on and Walmart's file-size limit

ShopShot Studio's photo-to-video add-on turns one product photo into a short clip: 5 seconds on the Photos + Video package, 10 seconds on the Launch Pack package. That comes back as a small video file, well under Walmart's 100MB Media Library cap, so file size isn't a concern for uploading it there. Since Walmart doesn't publish a minimum length we could verify, nothing we found in Walmart's own documentation rules out a short clip for this feature.

A quick checklist for Walmart product video

Questions

What are Walmart's product video requirements (file size, title length)?

Walmart's own Marketplace Learn guide to the Media Library caps video files at 100MB and video titles at 200 characters, and says the file typically processes in under 60 seconds after you upload it.

Do I need Walmart's Brand Portal to add a product video?

We didn't find a Brand Portal or brand-registration requirement in Walmart's own Media Library guide for this upload. That's different from Walmart's "Below the Fold" rich content, which Walmart's own rich-media checklist does reserve for registered brands.

Is there a minimum video length Walmart requires?

We couldn't find one stated in Walmart's own Marketplace Learn documentation. The only length-related number we found is the under-60-second processing time, which is how fast the file uploads, not how long the video itself has to be.

Which product categories can't use Walmart's product video feature?

Walmart's Prohibited Products Policy blocks most alcohol, tobacco and e-cigarette or vaping products, and firearm-related items from sale on Marketplace at all, so there's no listing — and no video — for those categories in the first place.

Does ShopShot's AI product video fit Walmart's file-size limit?

Yes. ShopShot's video add-on is a short clip — 5 seconds on the Photos + Video package, 10 seconds on Launch Pack — delivered as a small file, well under Walmart's 100MB Media Library cap.
