Privacy policy

This policy explains what ShopShot Studio ("we") collects when you use shopshotstudio.com and place an order, and what we do with it.

What we collect

• Order details: your email address, your name if you give it, the product name, and any notes you add.
• Your photos: the product photos you upload.
• Payment details: handled entirely by Stripe. We see the payment status, amount, and your email, but never your full card number.
• Emails you send us.
• Which pages are read: we count page views ourselves, so we can tell which pages are worth keeping. Each view records the page, the website that linked you (its name only, never the page you were reading), and your approximate country and type of device. No cookie, no identifier, nothing stored in your browser, and nothing that links two visits to one person. If you turn analytics off in "Your privacy choices", your visits aren't counted at all.
• When you open your files: when you open your files page, download a file, or open our delivery email with its pictures showing, we note the time, which file, your approximate location (city, region and country, worked out by our web host from your connection), and your type of device and browser. We don't store your IP address.
• Where you came from: if you arrive through an ad or a link, we note that link's campaign tags, which ad network the click came from, and the name of the website that sent you (never the page itself). This stays in your own browser for up to 30 days, not in a cookie, and is attached to your order only if you place one, so we can tell which of our marketing works. If your device is set to a European time zone, nothing is stored at all. We don't use third-party tracking cookies or ad pixels.
• Your email address, if you join our list to get the first-order discount code. We store only the address and the date you joined. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link, and you can also just reply and ask. We never sell or share the list.

How we use it

• To create and deliver your order, and to handle redos and refunds.
• To reply to your messages.
• To confirm your files reached you, and to help if they didn't.
• To keep records required for accounting and taxes.
• To learn which of our ads and posts bring customers, so we spend less on the ones that don't.

We don't sell your information. We don't use your photos or finished images in our marketing unless you give us permission.

Who processes it for us

• Stripe: payments.
• Runway: generating your images and video from your photos.
• Anthropic: checking your photos before we start and comparing the finished images against them, and helping draft replies to emails you send us.
• Cloudflare: private storage of your photos and finished files.
• Netlify: hosting this website.
• Resend and Google Workspace: sending and receiving email.

Each receives only what it needs to provide its service.

How long we keep it

• Uploaded photos and finished files are deleted 30 days after your order, along with the record of when they were opened and downloaded.
• Order and payment records are kept as long as the law requires for accounting and taxes.

Your choices

We don't use advertising pixels today. If we add them (for example Meta's or TikTok's, to measure which of our ads bring customers), they will only run with your permission if you're in Europe, never if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, and you'll be able to switch them off at any time with "Your privacy choices" at the bottom of every page. Choosing that counts as opting out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your information under California law.

You can ask us to see, correct, or delete your information, including deleting your photos sooner. Email hello@shopshotstudio.com. California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, and we'll honor them.

Security

We use HTTPS throughout, private storage with expiring links, and trusted providers. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above.
